A tragic attack in the Majagada community of Lere Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has left four people dead, including a pastor, while 12 others were kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The attack, which began around midnight and lasted into the early morning, also left several residents injured.

AKURDA Condemns Attack, Calls for Security Action
The Akurmi Development Association (AKURDA) strongly condemned the attack in a statement signed by its National President, Maigamo Yakubu, and Publicity Secretary, Pius Kyauta Agaji.
“We urge security agencies and the government to intervene promptly to ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals. There is an urgent need for increased security measures to prevent future attacks.”
The statement also prayed for the souls of the deceased, quick recovery for the injured, and safe return of those abducted.
Call for Urgent Government Action
This attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents plaguing Kaduna communities. Residents and advocacy groups continue to demand stronger security measures to curb banditry and kidnappings in the region.
Security forces are yet to issue an official statement on efforts being made to rescue the kidnapped victims.
